How Do We Look by Mary Beard

Mary Beard is too full of herself by half.  She is not capable of sharing what she sees without filling every nook and cranny with specious speculation, imagined histories and her own pedestrian thoughts. Insufferable.

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

The first fifty pages are quite amusing but it then starts to slow down and soon gets lost in a tedious Suburbia.

Brain on Fire by Susan Cahalan

Interesting to start but soon becomes dull and repetitious.  Gave up before I even found out why her brain went haywire deciding it wasn't worth the tedium of hearing about the minutia of her life.
